Positioned perfectly between Auckland and the Bay of Islands, we’ve become a natural stopover for cruising yachts, a home port for local vessels, and a welcoming entry point for international arrivals.

The marina and entrance channel have a depth of 3 metres at low tide. There may be some shallower spots for vessels with deep drafts at extreme low tides. The channel is dredged regularly to maintain that depth.
Arriving at the Marina
Upon arrival at Marsden Cove Marina, you will be issued a generic gate code that will give you access to the docks, toilets, marina lounge, and rubbish cage.
All gates are locked at night and can be opened by the code issued to you upon arrival at the marina. There are three ramps leading to the piers, each with a gate.
Yes. Marsden Cove Marina is a NZ Customs port of entry. Our Q-dock is located at the end of C-Pier.
The Q-dock is located at the end of C-Pier. The outside berth is 26m in length, so it is normally possible to get two vessels on the end berth. Boats can also raft up if all other berths are taken. The berths on the inside of the end berth consist of a 12m berth and a 14m berth. If you are a smaller vessel that easily fits the inside berths, please use these if possible to leave space for larger vessels.
Power and Services
Every vessel connected directly (i.e., your vessel is plugged into shore power via a shore power connection) to 240V shore power at Marsden Cove Marina is required to have an Electrical Warrant of Fitness (EWOF).
All power leads are also required to be tested and tagged annually. If you simply have an ancillary device plugged in, such as a battery charger or dehumidifier, then you do not require an Electrical Warrant of Fitness, but you will still require a tagged (inspected) power lead.
Marsden Cove Marina does not supply dock lines. Vessels are required to supply their own dock lines.
There are two pump-out stations within the marina. They are located at the top of A-pier and at the top of the fuel dock. We have a zero-tolerance policy for the dumping of raw sewage into the marina.
There is free wifi available from the marina office. A wifi code can be accessed from the marina office. Wifi will only work around the marina building and does not extend down onto the docks.
Fuel
There is a fuel dock located next to our haul-out ramp. There are three diesel pumps and two 91-octane petrol pumps operated by a Credit Card / EFTPOS terminal.
We can also supply duty-free fuel for vessels with a customs clearance when departing New Zealand.
During work hours ((7:00am-5:00pm, Mon-Fri), please berth port-side, on the right-hand side of the fuel jetty, to keep the ramp clear for our haul-out trailer. This is not possible for large catamarans, so please check with the marina office before berthing if there are vessels scheduled on the haul-out ramp. Vessels with deeper drafts should be mindful of depth at low tide.
Amenities
These are located on the ground floor of the marina office building.
You will need a TallyWeb account to enjoy a hot shower. Cold ones are free! Showers are $2 per 5 minutes.
A Tallyweb account gives you access to pay-as-you-use marina services like hot showers and laundry. Setting up an account at the marina office is quick and easy – it only takes a couple of minutes.
Washing machines and dryers are $4 per load. You will need a TallyWeb account to use the machines.
Located next to the marina office is the marina lounge with a small kitchenette, table, chairs, and a relaxing area. You will need a code to access the marina lounge. There is also a TV available with Freeview.
Feel free to grab one of our blue trolleys for loading or unloading your boat. When you finish with your trolley, please return it to the top of the pier for other marina customers to use.
Waste Disposal
There is a rubbish cage located by the marina carpark. You will need a gate code for access. There is also recycling at the rubbish cage.

Parking and Mail
The marina car park is the sealed car park that the pathway leads to from the marina gates. We have CCTV cameras operating in the car park; however, do not tempt thieves by leaving valuables in your car.
You can get mail and packages sent to the marina office for you to collect.
