A Transitional Facility Is?

A Transitional Facility (TF), in the context of New Zealand’s biosecurity, is a location approved by the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) to temporarily hold, inspect, and process imported goods that may pose a biosecurity risk. These facilities are crucial for managing uncleared goods until they receive biosecurity clearance, ensuring that New Zealand’s borders are protected from potential pests and diseases.

Our TF is for the decontamination of invasive bio foul from vessel hulls.

All visitors must follow all rules and instruction given by TF operator (Marsden Maritime Holdings).

  1. Entry is restricted to authorised and inducted personnel only.
  2. Visitors must report to the office, sign in and be accompanied by inducted personnel before entry.
  3. Always sign in and out, when in entering and exiting TF.
  4. All visitors must stay away from decontamination/quarantine area (Wash Bay).
  5. All visitors must stay away when decontamination procedures are in progress.

Failing to follow all rules and regulations may result in a trespass order being issued.
